NERKİZ AKÇURA, will be displaying her modern
interpretation of miniature at her solo exhibition
of art named as “Reflections From The Past” at
Galleria D’Arte Vista, Rome.
Beginning her career of art with the traditional form of miniature that is documenting Ottoman palace life with its political and cultural events, Nerkiz Akçura has mainly concentrated on hedonistic culture of Ottoman palace life since she started her modern interpretation of miniature. Akcura, will be displaying her contemporary and authentic compositions on oil and acrylic at Galleria d’arte Vista between 18 and 29 May 2013.
Being a palace art, Miniature has been a tool to elaborate different themes for book painting during the Ottoman period. Nerkiz Akcura is well-known with her authentic style, dynamic and bold compositions. Combining her contemporary style with the traditional components of miniature, Akcura’s compositions give an idea about Ottoman palace life and women clothings around 15th century. Her compositions elaborate Ottoman palace life style together with the musical and dance performances that are carried out during the ceremonies on special dates. Also, her compositions display amusing times such as “coffee fortune” as it still lasts today and the cities that have hostessed several civilizations.
